I forgot my phone.
Watchijng this video made me a little more observant to the amount of time I spend on my phone each day. Not only the amount of time but how much of that time is spent when other people are present. I have a deal with my friends at dinner sometimes where we all put on phones in the middle of the table and first one to cave has to cover all of the tip. We live in a time where almost everyone is attachted to their electronics. I realize they made this video to make the point that everyone is on thier phone all the time, but they were a bit excessive with having everyone on their phone at the same time. Our society has lost the value of communication and the connections between each other.

Exercise 7.1
This salty veteran was offended by the exhibit, "Home of The Brave," featured at the museum. The veteran is offended because the artists have no idea the sacrifice that is made for them to have the freedom to be able to do that and disgrace the American Flag. I completely agree with him, the artist should be a bit more considerate of the people who give them their freedoms. The writer is speaking from his own personal, first hand experience of fighting for our freedoms. I agree with the writer, he kind of brings a bias that helps me side with him. If i were talk to the artist i may feel a different way about it though. Art and polotics are not a good mix and everyone see's art differently and that is why it is art.

Argument Proposal
Earned Not Given
I would like to address the importance of competition in sports. Today many parents believe in everyone having fun and everybody participating. Although this is good in theory, this thinking is actually hindering the development of children. Competitive sports teach important lessons, it is about more than just winning and losing. It teaches children sportsmanship and humility when they when and the understanding and drive to become better when they lose. Life lessons are taught at a young age and when you take that away from a child, they will never learn about failure, they will just assume that everything should be fair and be given to them.
What does competition in sports teach? And how does it affect the lives of our children?
Competitions teaches self worth and builds confidence. The participation mentality teaches a sense of entitlement.
